Since the first of August 2016, it has been possible to occupy space in the High Tech Factory through BTC-Twente. High Tech Factory's production facility is located on the campus of the University of Twente near the NanoLab of MESA +, one of the largest in the field of micro and nanotechnology worldwide.
The facility is intended to enable companies in microsystems and nanotechnology to grow. They can develop their high-tech products and scale up production for the commercial market using high-quality cleanrooms and laboratories.
Not only for spin-offs, but also for other companies in microsystems and nanotechnology. Knowledge, expertise and facilities are present here, in perfect cooperation and open access, unprecedented in the Netherlands and also very special in Europe.
High Tech Factory, a product of the entrepreneurial spirit that characterizes Twente, thrives in the vibrant environment of Kennispark, a location where ideas become products.
High Tech Factory offers an excellent and fast internet connection of 1Gb. Use of internet can be purchased by tenants per company through an external provider.
Telephone connections are available in all rooms. Tenants can conclude individual telephone contracts with an external provider that offers VOIP.
High Tech Factory has its own internal emergency team. Exercises take place twice a year and the emergency facilities are tested for completeness and functionality. Companies using the labs of cleanrooms are asked to represent themselves in the emergency response team.
High Tech Fund, developed by High Tech Factory, enables companies to purchase expensive production equipment. As a result, they do not have to make a large investment themselves at once. High Tech Fund purchases the equipment and remains the owner and helps companies with the insurmountable pre-financing problem. A number of companies have been able to realize their growth plans thanks to the fund.
High Tech Fund appears to be a catalyst for companies in micro and nanotechnology that want to grow. Medspray, a company that has focused on the development and production of medical sprays for people with asthma and COPD, can give an example of this (www.medspray.nl). High Tech Fund has purchased a device for Medspray that installs the plastic housing for the spray heads developed by Medspray. The production line is placed in a few cleanrooms in the High Tech Factory.
